Woodlands Veterinary Referral is located in Watkinsville, Georgia.  It was initially started by Dr. Gilbert Jacobs, a small animal cardiologist, in 2001 as Jacobs Veterinary Consulting. Dr. Barker joined Dr. Jacobs in 2006 and took over ownership of the practice in 2007. Dr. Jacobs worked with Dr. Barker for 11 years at Woodlands Veterinary Referral before he retired in 2018.

Our mission at Woodlands Veterinary Referral is to provide personal and specialized small animal cardiology and internal medicine care.  WVR works closely with your veterinarian to establish a diagnosis and to formulate an individualized treatment plan for your pet. 

 

Our schedule is structured to provide you and your pet with our complete attention and care during their appointment time. We pride ourselves in creating a compassionate and low stress environment for our patients while providing positive reinforcement to make each appointment a comfortable experience.
